Well Water Alert

I received this note from our neighbor Mark Zwart. If you have not had your well tested for a while, you may want to do that.

We just had a full test of our well water and it indicated a higher than normal level of Uranium. The Environmental agency recommends it not be over 30mg and ours tested at 63mg. Just a heads up to our neighbors that they may want to test for this in their well. According to the health department higher levels of Uranium in your drinking water can lead to higher risk of Kidney disease if ingested on a prolonged basis. The Tri-county Health department indicates uranium is pretty common in Colorado, but thought a heads up to our neighbors of our findings may be a good idea.

It can be treated with special water softeners and faucet filters.
